HFA Hike at Mount Major
September 25, 2015
Which mountain will we climb?
We will be hiking Mt. Major in Alton, NH, a beautiful day hike with stunning views of Lake Winnipesaukee from the summit. We will climb the yellow trail, which is a 3.4 mile loop totaling less than three hours.
What should I bring/wear?
Dress in comfortable athletic shoes, as terrain may be rocky, and bring a jacket. Though the day is rumored to be 70° and sunny, the exposed top can be somewhat chilly. We will be eating lunch at the summit, so please remember to pack a lunch as well!
Are there permission slips?
The Parental Authorization forms that went home at the Parent Orientation, and were emailed out last Friday, take the place of individual permission slips. In order for students to participate in this, or any, HFA event, these forms must be returned to the office by Thursday. Please contact the office with any questions.
Will there be carpools?
we need parent volunteers to make this possible! Carpools will meet at the HFA parking lot to depart at 8:00. If you can drive, please notify the office so that we can organize rides. Thank you!
Where will we meet at the mountain?
We will meet in the parking lot at the base of the mountain. The GPS Coordinates of the parking lot are:
GPS Coordinates: N43° 31.153' W071° 16.416'
