NASHUA, NH-- The Holy Family Academy Griffins opened their 2016 Soccer season this Friday with an explosive 6-3 win against Nashua Christian Academy. With 26 shots on nets, control in the midfield, a strong defense and clutch goal keeping, the JV Griffins showed themselves a team to be reckoned with. Goal keeper Owen Rival boldly challenged breakaways to the net with several well-timed dives and smart positioning in the box. Defensive backs Estelle Mandeville, Francis Vicinanzo, and Michael Dennehy kept pressure on the Nashua offense, leaving limited opportunities for clean shots on net and frequently causing turn-overs. Mid-fielders Thomas Gillis, Joshua Lemieux, Zachary Morris, Jam Templeton, and Lily Williams worked well as a unit scooping up turn-overs and demonstrating excellent vision with passing to the offense. The offense, Michael Lewis, Tom Peterson, and Francois Tetreault positioned themselves well and with give-n-go passing opening up several good looks on net. Goals and assists credited to Matthew Lewis, Francois Tetreault, Thomas Peterson, and Zachary Morris.
