Happy Feast of St. Joseph!
This morning, the Board of Trustees and Administrators joyfully awaited Bishop Libasci?s arrival at the Academy for his special visit!
Fr. Jason Jalbert, Fr. John Fortin, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, and Fr. Robert Smolley concelebrated Holy Mass with the Bishop in our chapel. The Board of Trustees, the faculty and students were present to celebrate with our Bishop on this day, the feast of St. Joseph, our Patron Saint. Following the celebration of Holy Mass, Fr. John Fortin presented the official framed Catholic School Recognition Certificate to the Board, followed by congratulations by the Bishop. Everyone heard Bishop Libasci affirm our school, as a wonderful Catholic school where the Catholic faith is taught, treasured, and lived. And today, thanks be to God, Jesus is now perpetually reposed in our tabernacle! We are so blessed to have the precious Body and Blood of Jesus here at HFA ? Jesus, our hearts? desire! Praise God for His faithfulness to us!
Today, God also revealed His sense of humor! After the ceremony was over, as everyone knelt down for a quiet moment before the Blessed Sacrament ---the fire alarm went off due to the incense used during the ceremony! The fire department arrived promptly while everyone had already left our very sweet-smelling building, along with Bishop Libasci and the other priests. The Bishop even had his picture taken with one of the firemen once we had re-entered the school. I think the Bishop will remember his special day at Holy Family Academy!
I want to thank Fr. Robert Smolley for all of his help in preparing the students, the chapel, and all the liturgical things for this day. I would also like to give special thanks to the HFA Moms who prepared a beautiful reception for the Bishop and everyone who attended! THANK YOU!
Let us thank the Lord for his love, mercy, and faithfulness during the remainder of this Lenten season!
I am blessed and privileged to serve such devoted Catholic families.
Thank you and God bless,
Mrs. Lucille Fortin
