St. Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897), even though she lived to be only twenty-four years old, was declared a Doctor of the Church by John Paul II in 1997. Therese felt an early call to religious life, and in 1888, at the early age of 15, she became a nun and joined two of her elder sisters in the cloistered Carmelite community of Lisieux, Normandy. She is the Co-Patroness of Missionaries along with St. Francis Xavier, and the Co-Patroness of France along with St. Joan of Arc.
Inspired by this female Doctor of the Church, Holy Family Academy offers one St. Therese scholarship to a girl who is an outstanding student in need of financial assistance. The cost to fund this scholarship is $8,000.
Would you prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible contribution toward the Catholic education of one outstanding girl?
